Mums group

Being a Mum can be hard.  We can feel the pressure of the world convincing us that we need to be ‘Super Mum’.  Super at sharing Jesus with  our children, super at being crafty with our children, super at disciplining our children, super at having fun with our children, super at helping our teenagers handle peer pressure.  But sometimes it seems too much of a balancing act.

Meeting together with other Mums and sharing together over God’s word can help us get the balance right.  So we will be starting up a Mums group after the Easter holidays.  The group will be meeting roughly every 6 weeks to study, chat and support one another in prayer.  The first meeting will be Thursday May 1st, meeting at 7.45pm at Charlotte Chapel.  The rest of the dates for 2014 are as follows:
  • June 5th
  • Sept 4th
  • Oct 23rd
  • Nov 20th
To start with we will be studying ‘Getting to the Heart of Parenting’ by Paul David Tripp.  Parenting is so much deeper than rules and regulations.  This study looks at a biblical view which teaches that parenting is all about the exposure and change of a child's heart.  Permanent behavioural change only occurs when the heart of a person is changed by grace.  Learn how to become an instrument of heart-changing grace in the lives of your children.

The group is open to all Mums of pre-schoolers, school age children and  teenagers.  We'd love those with older teenagers to be able to come along and share with those with younger children.  Contact Rachel on rsloan@charlottechapel.org to register your interest.
