Delighting in the Greater Adoption

In our evening sermon series we are studying through Romans 8.  In our most recent sermon we encountered the doctrine of adoption.  Verses 15 says this, "The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship.  And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.”"  As Christians we get to call the creator God our Father.  That is amazing news.  Andy read from this article from Chelsea Patterson.  She reflects on her our adoption and how it is a reflection of our greater adoption.  She says, "Delight in the greater adoption. Live as one who knows you have God as your Father. You were purchased by the precious blood of Jesus, redeemed from sin, and offered an eternal inheritance."

Help! My kids are looking at Porn!

What do you should you do and how do you respond if you discover your children have been looking at or looking for pornography.  Tim Challies addresses this issue in a two part post.  The first addresses the immediate response and the second looks at how you might put together a plan that will protect your family in the future, both preventing those who want to look at porn and protecting those who don't yet know that it exists.

Take God at His Word: Kevin DeYoung on the Character of Scripture
By any account the Bible is the most influential book of all time.  Much ink has been spilled writing about it.  But what does Scripture say about itself?  In his new book, Taking God at His Word, Kevin DeYoung offers a readable defense of the clarity, authority, sufficiency and beauty of God's written Word.  In this interview, Kevin DeYoung, discusses some of the issues his book covers.  An interesting read.  Looking forward to reading the book.
